Well One Year today, we started our wall in Oakland. Meme and Ksra worked together to get five ladies together to paint.
On our 1st wall: Lady Mags, Rachel Pelican, Beth Emmerich and Miss Reds. Then the others where added like Toofly, Siloette, Myla, Dime, Hops, 179, Muse and Agana. We are happy to say that this year and next year we have some major protects in our future plans!
Now we have 20 amazing girls in the paint crew.
Thank you for supporting us and sending your love!!
FWORD a Bay Area bomber. She has been hitting rooftops, buses and high profile spots for years now. I always have been a fan of her tags, straight funky letters and her creative way of doing her name. I have love for the ladies that bomb and put in work…
Stay up Fword! -M

“We are proud to name internationally acclaimed, Oakland-based [singer-songwriter] Goapele the first recipient of this award. But as successful as she is, Goapele remains deeply rooted in her home community and in the struggle for human rights. We first saw her sing at rallies and demonstrations when both she and Ella Baker Center were just starting out. Today, she is still here with us, side by side, looking forward to a better day for all of our people. ”
The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights is a non-profit strategy and action center. The stated aim of the center is to work for justice, opportunity, and peace in urban America.
This is going to be a very diverse group of talented women doing music, art, food, live painting and the list goes on!!
